NUMARK MIXTRACK PRO

The Numark Mixtrack Pro is a portable complete DJ system designed to allow you to mix with music stored on your Mac or PC.

The Mixtrack is a software controller that allows you to scratch, mix, & loop by interacting with the DJ software through the control surfaces and controls on the Mixtrack.

The system has two touch sensitive platters that allow scratching, cueing, beat-juggling and the locating precise points within tracks.

The layout of the controls is the standard two deck/mixer setup familiar to most DJs, making it easy to learn.

Mixtrack is Midi based and connects to your computer via USB cable, making it compatible with most DJ software. The Mixtrack has the standard dual turntable & audio mixer setup. The Jog dials are touch sensitive allowing you to stop & scratch at any point by just touching the top of the turntable.

The unit has it’s own internal 2 channel audio interface & produces high quality sound. It also comes with the Virtual DJ Software and allows you to use your itunes libraries.

Numark Mixtrack Pro has a crossfader for fading between the two decks & up faders for controlling the volume, & cueing controls. The unit provides all the basic functions including EQ, scratching, beat matching , mixing & looping. It is powered by the computer through the USB cable.

Numark gives you all the inputs and outputs you’ll need including headphone & Mic jacks, USB port & audio outputs from its internal two channel sound card. The large Jog wheels on the Mixtrack make it nice if you are looking for that Vinyl DJ feel but on a digital machine.

One of the things lacking on Mixtrak Pro’s predecessor was the soundcard, this is a nice addition, as is the Virtual DJ Software which is easier to use than Traktor which was bundled with the original.

Although the numark mixtrack pro dj contoller is not intended to be a “professional” system, this still a great portable unit good for beginners and veterans alike.

RECOMMENDATION: You Might want to try the full version of Native Instruments Traktor Pro or Numark Cue Professional software for a more complete Numark Mixtrack Pro DJ software.

ISSUES: Forum feedback on the Numark Mixtrack Pro is generally very positive. There have been a number of reports of problems with some of the buttons wearing out. Keep in mind that this is a entry level unit great for new DJs or a backup system but may not hold up under heavy use or “miss-use”. This unit has more customer reviews than any other controller we have seen, generally positive.

“Purchased this controller for Christmas after reading many good things about it. I’ve played around with different controllers before I made my decision on the Mixtrack Pro and being my first “owned” controller I am very pleased. The built in sound card is convenient as it was not built into the regular Mixtrack, the platters are sturdy and have excellent response in terms of scratching etc. The browser knob in the center of the console allows you to browse your iTunes library and choose which songs to cue next. Although this controller is about 90 percent plastic, it still is durable and lightweight for travel purposes. If your looking for a decent controller but are looking to stay low in the price range, the Mixtrack Pro is the way to go.”

“I got a brand new Mixtrack pro at a big recognizaed music store and after six weeks of use the play button just cave/fell into the mixer, I tried to contact numark but its been a week since i tried to contact them leaving a message on their website, after sending it they said they would be back with you in a 24-72 hours period and well, its been a week. I tried to call them but after 15 minutes waiting on the line i just gave up waiting. Its a nice controller, its a shame the buttons are not reliable..”
