NUMARK iCD DJ IN A BOX
The Numark iCD DJ in a Box is a complete DJ system with dual CD players, ipod dock, a two-channel DJ mixer and headphones.
This is basically the the same as the Numark CD DJ in a Box with the addition of an ipod dock with the ability to Play tracks from iPod and record your mix to iPod.
The cd’s are Numarks NDX200 heavy duty CD decks. The NDX200′s have a large jog wheel which makes scratching and cueing very comfortanble.
Vibration can be an issue with turntables but can be even worse with CD based decks. Numark has introduced a new buffered Anti-Shock skip-protection technology that helps minimize skipping. CD DJ in a BOX has a seamless looping feature for creating integral loops in instant remixes.

If you prefer to perform or play CDs and you are not using the iCD DJ in a Box professionally the Numark iCD DJ in a Box is a good Entry level system for the money. The addition of the ipod dock is a nice upgrade and adds a much requested feature.
The icdj in a Box mixer controls are solid and operate smoothly although it would be nice if the mixer had low, mid & high adjustment, but for an entry level unit the basic controls are acceptable.
The NDX200 CD player is good quality and the large jog wheel is comfortable for scratching.
If you don’t want to use vinyl or a computer as a source then CDs are your best bet, they are easy to carry around and a good choice especially if you already have a library of music on CDs.
RECOMMENDATION: These days we prefer software controllers but these are solid entry level units if you prefer to perform off CDs.
ISSUES: We have heard some negative feedback about people receiving units that have faulty CD players, however keep in mind that if you are buying from Amazon be aware of the vendor, it is preferable to make sure it is shipped by Amazon rather than a 3rd party, make sure it is a reputable vendor.

“I received this product for Christmas and I was ecstatic to start DJing. After playing around with it for a few days, I truly found out that this new package was not too shabby. It’s very durable and easy to use, with the added bonus of an iPod dock, where you can record your mixes straight onto your iPod. Since I’m a beginner, having less knobs and buttons really helped me understand the fundamental concepts of Djing. My only problem is that the CD players don’t scratch; they only bend the pitch and search through the song. All in all, if you’re Djing for the first time, and you want to get started somewhere, this is definitely the setup to begin with..”

“I really like the mixer it is awesome to dj from one cd to ipod too another cd then back to ipod etc. I really had so much fun with it. The only thing i dont like about the cd players is that it does’nt show you the bpm of your tracks so you have to use your head and count the beats in the song that you are playing but other than that for a beginner like myself this is perfect! ”

“I purchased this product for my 15 year old son. He had seen You Tube videos of it and was excited about getting it. On the You Tube videos it showed a “scratcher” button being used to make the DJ scratching sound but this button was not on this product.
